Zen at work: Healthy food

With the “Back to work” period comes along lots of resolutions. And extending well-being and serenity after holidays might truly be one of them.

Spa lifestyle is about relax, renew and rejuvenate the body and mind. In this section 'Zen at work', inspired from the smart witty book “Office Spa” by Darrin Zeer, here are easy-to-do tips that will help you prevent stress with exercises stemmed from well-balanced nutrition, aromatherapy, acupressure, meditation, and reflexology.

Let's start with healthy food!

You need to lose these persistent kilos, or simply feel good in your body, here are a few healthy bases to help you transform your eating habits:

  • Get inspired by Japanese diet! You've only got to consider the Japanese allure and the centenarian from Okinawa. You always feel lighter after a Japanese meal: eat unlimited vegetables, lots of rice and fresh fish; use soya, herbs and spices in your cooking; drink litres of green tea, and use little salt and sugar!

  • Smoothie detox is in vogue at the moment! Thanks to juice bars such as Detox Delight, Dietox, BluePrint Juice or Organic Avenue, 1 to 5 day juice diet will help you cleanse and detoxify your body for a fresh boost.

  • Healthy snacks for morning and afternoon breaks are essential to keep your energy high all day long. Rather than throwing yourself into candies and chocolate bars from the vending machine, eat a bunch of walnuts, almonds, raisins, seeds, dried apricots, dried dates, prunes, dark chocolate chips, ginseng and goji seeds, etc.

  • Tea is always lighter and healthier than hot coffee or chocolate! Bring a selection of exquisite green teas at your office from Mariage Frères (Bouddha Bleu, Thé du Dragon, Shanghai) and Dammann (Nuit à Versailles) for example. Your “tea” corner may include a tea spoon, an array of honeys, a bamboo Matcha whisk to prepare an authentic Japanese Matcha tea, tea bowls, and a big teapot to share with co-workers in a warm and joyful atmosphere. You may also provide interesting food for thoughts with the Ayurvedic brand, Yogi tea, that delivers meaningful and inspirational quotes on each tea sachets.
